Custom payment providers now support Subscriptions with saved payment methods

Modified on Mon, 25 Aug at 8:46 AM

What's new?
We now support the creation of subscriptions manually using saved payment methods. This will give customers more flexibility and reduce friction when setting up recurring payments. This feature is already supported for our native payment providers like Stripe, NMI, AuthorizeNet, but was missing for custom payment provider apps.
How does it work?
  • When a custom payment provider app is installed, it will now indicate whether it supports subscription schedules with saved payment methods.
  • If the app supports this feature, Platform will allow manually creating a subscription from the Contact section and the Payments section (Refer
    Visuals
    )
  • Developers of custom payment apps will simply need to update their integration configuration to include this capability.
Why does it matter?
  • No need for clients to re enter payment details for every subscription.
  • Option to add a card and start subscriptions directly
  • Set up and manage ongoing payments with less manual work.
What's next?
  • We have updated our help docs with instructions so app creators can enable this feature in their custom payment integrations.
  • Once the support is added on SaaS configurator, it will also let accounts to created SaaS plans and accept payments via Custom Payment Providers
